   Class: Contractor Supervisor Initial

The initial asbestos abatement supervisor certification is normally completed in five days (40 hours with 8 hour refreshers); however we can customize it to meet your needs. New York State Industrial Code Rule 56 (12NYCRR56), United States Environmental Protection Agency and United States Occupational Safety and Health Administration asbestos regulations specify that an individual holding an asbestos contractor/supervisor certificate be on-site at all times during asbestos abatement activities and that such representation is required to obtain an asbestos abatement contractor’s handling license. An asbestos abatement contractor may designate an asbestos abatement supervisor as their “competent person” to serve as his/her agent for purposes of asbestos abatement site supervision. Asbestos abatement supervisors include those who provide supervision and direction to workers engaged in asbestos removal, encapsulation, enclosure and repair. This course includes sixteen (16) hours of hands-on training exercises and concludes with a one hundred (100) question exam (25 questions for refreshers). Those who complete the initial training course may use their Cornerstone issued training certificate (DOH FORM 2832) as a temporary certification to work for forty-five days while they await their official ‘Hard Card’ from the New York State Department of Labor.
This class offers a certificate upon successful completion.
Renewal is required for this training and is offered annually.
